FEDERAL INCENTIVES.

INCENTIVES FOR ZERO-EMISSION VEHICLES (iZEV) PROGRAM.

The Government of Canada’s iZEV program offers rebates of up to $5,000 for drivers purchasing or leasing a new battery-electric or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.

There are two levels of rebate depending on the type of vehicle.

Individuals are eligible for one incentive under the program per year, and businesses are eligible for up to 10. To meet the iZEV program requirements, the vehicle must be either:

 

A passenger car with an MRSP less than $55,000. Higher priced trims of these vehicles, up to a maximum MRSP of $65,000, are also eligible for incentives.

 

Or

 

A station wagon, pickup truck (light truck), SUV, minivan, van, or special purpose vehicle with an MRSP less than $60,000. Higher priced trims of these vehicles, up to a maximum MRSP of $70,000, are also eligible for incentives.

Vehicles are still eligible for the incentive even if delivery, freight, and other fees (like vehicle colour, add-on accessories (e.g., a roof rack), options, and packages) push the actual purchase price over these set limits.

PROVINCIAL INCENTIVES.

BRITISH COLUMBIA.

UP TO $4,000 REBATE FOR INDIVIDUALS.

BC residents with a valid BC driver's license could be eligible for up to $4,000 in rebates when they purchase or lease a battery-electric or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. Rebates are income assessed and must be applied for before purchase of your chosen vehicle.

CARPOOL LANE ACCESS.

In qualifying low-emission vehicles, you can apply for a decal that gives you access to the HOV lane on BC highways.
BMW charging

$350 EV CHARGER REBATE.

Owners or residents of single-family homes, row homes, or duplexes that purchase and install an eligible Level 2 EV charger could receive a rebate of up to 50% of costs, to a maximum of $350.

UP TO $3,000 REBATE FOR BC BUSINESSES.

BC-based businesses, non-profit organizations, and local governments can receive rebates of up to $3,000 for vehicles in their fleet.

$750 EV CHARGER REBATE.

Residents or organizations that receive a vehicle rebate through the Plug-In NB program can claim 50% of the cost before taxes and fees to purchase and install one new level 2 EV charger, up to a maximum of $750.

NEWFOUNDLAND & LABRADOR.

UP TO $2,500 REBATE.

Until March 15, 2024, vehicles which qualify for the federal iZEV program are eligible for an additional rebate up to $2,500 through the provincial Electric Vehicle Rebate Program.

Vehicles which qualify for the federal iZEV program are eligible for an additional rebate of up to $5,750 through the provincial electric vehicle incentive program.

Low-carbon vehicles whose base trim has an MSRP of less than $60,000 ($70,000 for pickup trucks) are eligible for rebates up to $5,000.
